Summer Ballin'

My university 'summer ball' took place this weekend, so we decided to make a weekend of it and booked into the London Bridge Hotel. After dining at The Alchemist, we joined friends for drinks at The Temple Brew House before walking down to Victoria Embankment and hopping on-board the HMS President. All in all, we had a fab night, so I just thought I would share a few photos!

I decided to wear my hair in a French pleat. I went for an up-do because the venue was on the Thames and I couldn't be dealing with wind-swept hair! This is one of those hair styles that I've always adored on other people, but my hair has always been too long for it. After a recent cut, my hairdresser agreed it would work.

Dress from Miss Selfridge S/S14. I've been waiting ages to wear this dress, and the night before the ball, the zip broke! I cried and cried. It was no use, but my lovely boyfriend drove me to town first thing in the morning and bought me a new dress. It is gorgeous, but my heart was set on wearing my original choice of outfit. He managed to get the zip up on the day, so I stuck with the original plan! My shoes are from Clarks (Dalhart Sorbet) and the bag is from Dorothy Perkins.

Strawberry bellini & 'the colour changing one' - cocktails at The Alchemist, Bevis Marks.

Shameless mirror selfie...

Couldn't choose between nude and white tips, so went somewhere in between!

  1. Lovely photos! I've been to The Alchemist in Manchester before, the cocktails are so cool!

  2. They're amazing! Been wanting to try it for so long!

  3. You look so gorgeous in that dress, it's great you were able to wear it to the event! That hairstyle is also very chic, we can see why you love it!
