July Favourites

Okay, so I may be a little late with my July favourites, but its only the second week of the month!? I'd rather spend some time using the products I've bought this month so I can actually tell you a little about them! Here are some of the products I purchased this month which I feel deserve some acknowledgement:

- Max Factor Creme Puff Blush in 'Nude Mauve'
- MAC satin 'pink nouveau' lipstick*

'All Nighter' Setting Spray by Urban Decay

I have come across this product multiple times when reading through my favourite blogs and notifications on Bloglovin' and thought 'why not?' So I picked it up in my local Debenhams, and I haven't looked back. I can't believe I lived without this product for so long! I picked up the travel-sized bottle for £9, just so I could test it out without splurging. I definitely wish I had picked up the full sized product for £21! I guess the size is handy though, as I have already taken it away with me on my travels to Norwich and Richmond. I spray it in an 'X' and 'T' formation across my face, from arms length, after full application of my makeup, with my eyes closed. My makeup stays looking fresh all day, and this prevents my foundation from going patchy or sinking into pores and fine lines. Love it!

Makeup Revolution

Makeup Revolution appears to have taken the blogosphere by storm and has been praised highly since it made an appearance on the beauty scene. This brand is currently exclusive to Superdrug, but I was gutted to discover that they don't currently stock it anywhere near me, in sunny Southend-on-Sea. I even tried the Westfields, Stratford store, but nope, nothing. I searched for a list of stockists online, and discovered that the George Street Superdrug in Richmond stocks this brand. Luckily, I was due to spend the night in Richmond that weekend, whilst visiting a friend.

The first thing I picked up was this palette, that I had seen featured on several other blogs. I had picked out the palette I wanted, no, needed, before I had even reached Richmond, and I snatched it up straight away. Eyeshadow is not exactly my strong point when it comes to makeup application. I practice and practice, but just never seem to achieve the looks I see online! Being an eyeshadow amateur, I'm not that keen on spending £30+ on the likes of the Naked palette or the Too Faced Chocolate Bar (even though they look fab on other people and I still lust after them). So, at £4, this beautiful little thing was a right bargain!

I kept these swatches on my arm whilst putting together this post, blowing and wiping over them with my fingers, and I am really impressed with the staying power! The pigmentation is amazing too. I just can't believe this palette was only £4!

I have had my eye on the Creme Puff Blushers by Max Factor (£8.99) for ages now, but it's one of those 'pick it up, put it down, pick it up, put it down' products for me; did I really need it? With a little convincing from a friend whilst shopping, I decided, yes, I really do! This blusher, as you can see, is very, very subtle. I have very fair skin and bright and bold blushers look absolutely ridiculous and somewhat clown like on me! This however, is fab, and very buildable, much like Benefit's Dandelion. I also picked up this highlighter from Makeup Revolution London (£4) in the shade 'Peach Lights.' I fell in love with this highlighter straight away! It hasn't got any huge chunks of glitter in it (not about that Edward Cullen look!) and is more shimmer than shine. It comes in a range of shades, but this is just perfect for my pale skin, as it adds a gentle glow.

The reason this MAC satin lipstick in 'Pink Nouveau' was asterisked above is because, luckily for me, I was given it by one amazing friend (I do know how to pick 'em!). I have never had a satin-finish lipstick by MAC before, as I tend to go for matte lipsticks in general. I love this colour for summer! As a blonde, I feel I can wear lipsticks this bright and just call it the 'Barbie' look.

The Porefessional primer by Benefit has become a bit of a cult product in the beauty world, so I won't go too much into detail about it. I purchased it for £24.50 in my local Debenhams. I was intrigued by the colour and consistency of this product, but disappointed with the value for money (I guess this isn't really a 'favourite' ha!). You only get 22ml of product for more money than most 30ml foundations cost.

The packaging states that this product 'quickly minimises the appearance of pores.' Now, I have gigantic pores. This has always been a problem for me. Does this product minimise the appearance of them? No, it does not. To conclude, I didn't really find this product any better than the Rimmel, Revlon (Photo Ready) and Bourjois primers that I have used in the past, and that were a lot cheaper.
