August Favourites | Collab with Ellie

Hi all! Today I will be collaborating with Ellie from Elliegant Beauty (who else is really digging her blog name?!) to bring you our August favourites. Ellie is new on the blogging scene so please show her some love!

Here are the products which feature in today's post:

Vivienne Westwood 'Mon Boudoir' EDP RRP: £54, OLP: £31.75

Batiste: I am an avid fan of dry shampoos, but over the years, I have always come back to Batiste. You just can't beat it! As a blonde with ashy hair, Batiste always makes my hair look blonder, rather than making it look dusty (like it can do to darker hair). When I saw this limited edition can, which is exclusive to Superdrug, I just had to have it. The packaging is adorable! It has a 'sugar melon and honeysuckle' fragrance that you can smell all day.

Vivienne Westwood EDP: This isn't a fragrance that I would normally go for, but when a friend gave it to me, I thought 'why not?' All Beauty (formerly Cheap Smells) describes it as follows:

'Vivienne Westwood Mon Boudoir is a flanker of her debut perfume 'Boudoir' and is a fresh, delicate and elegant feminine scent that blends distinctive accords of the original with new, fresher tones like lily of the valley. The composition opens with dewy notes of Chinese pear, basil and mandarin, moving into a floral heart that includes lily of the valley, jasmine and rose, laid on a base of white musk and sandalwood.'

The RRP is £54 for a 50ml bottle of the EDP, but if you're a savvy fragrance shopper like me, head to All Beauty to grab a bottle for £31.75!

Maybelline Baby Skin: You know as well as I do that sometimes we just give in to the pressure and buy a product purely based on the hype it has received in the blogging world! This primer has received such glowing reviews online, that I Just had to give it a go. Texture wise, it feels pretty much  identical to Urban Decay's primer potion, perhaps just a little less thick. But for £7.99, this is the obvious choice. It really is 'lightweight' and spreads easily across the skin. Does it really 'erase' pores though? Not for me! I have gigantic pores and need something a little more heavy-duty. But this does make my makeup stay a little longer.

Maybelline Colour Tattoo Shadow: Again, I purchased this simply because it was receiving so much attention online... oops! I bought it in shade 65, 'Pink Gold.' I am head over heels for this shadow! It's my first cream shadow and now there is no going back; as Ariel would say, I want m-oooo-re! It blends so easily. I apply with my fingers and then grab a blending brush and go back into my crease with a powdered shadow from my Makeup Revolution palette.

Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair: Estee Lauder says:

'Lines and wrinkles look significantly reduced. More than 75% of women felt their skin looked more youthful.* Skin feels smoother, hydrated, stronger. 82% felt their skin was instantly hydrated.* Skin looks younger, radiant, more even toned. 83% of women felt their skin looked healthier, fresher, more rested.'

This product is apparently ideal for: multiple signs of aging, visible age prevention, lines and wrinkles, oil-free, dullness, loss of radiance, dryness and dehydration. It is suitable for all skin-types. At £50 for 30ml, this product is a little pricey. If you're like me and are totally unwilling to part with your hard-earned cash, simply visit your local counter and request a sample! I was given a free 7ml sample, and its lasted me well! This is my first anti-aging product, but I must say I am in love with it! I was recommended it for my dehydrated skin, but I use it more around my eye area, as I have some fine lines that require some attention.

L'Oreal Telescopic Mascara: I'm not too certain whether this mascara has been discontinued or has had a makeover, but I've stocked up just to be on the safe side! This is one of my all-time favourite drugstore/highstreet mascaras. It's the only 'lengthening' mascara I have purchased that shows real signs of actual 'lengthening.' It makes my eyelashes look so long and ultra black, but doesn't clump, doesn't transfer to my undereye area and applies easily without creating a mess! Winner!

So there you have it, my favourite products throughout the month of August 2015! Please don't forget to check out Elliegant Beauty (follow her on Bloglovin' here) to see Ellie's August favourites and leave her some love! Drop us a comment below to let us know, what have been your August favourites?

  10. Great favorites, I haven't tried the L'Oreal telescopic yet. My holy grail is still Miss Manga, but I am tempted now. There ain't no better and blacker black's as the L'Oreal mascara's anyway.

  28. I've been using the Eden Batiste dry shampoo and the smell is so good! I have pretty thick hair and it's basically very difficult to get anything to work on it, but I think that this dry shampoo is a little life saver sometimes :) It was also in my August Favourites!
