Primark Dress Haul

A fashion post, you say? That's odd. Yes, I know... I'm not really big on fashion posts. As we speak, I have just remembered why that is... hello insecurities! Don't get me wrong, I'm not overly body-conscious. I'm pretty happy with my appearance in general, but I have my insecurities just like everybody else, and the thought of putting full-length pictures of myself up online is slightly terrifying to me. But never mind, let's press on!

You know that moment? That one where, when a change of season comes around, you're left staring blankly into your wardrobe wondering how you're going to make it through the autumn/winter months?! Well, I had that moment a couple of weeks ago. I knew buying a couple of tops just wouldn't do, and I needed a good old haul. My bank balance was genuinely upsetting, and I knew I had to do this on a budget! So, off to Primark I headed. Here is what I managed to get my hands on in the Intu Lakeside branch:

Ivory Skater Dress: £10
This was the first thing I picked up. There are so many dresses like this on the highstreet right now, most likely because it's such a timeless design. I reckon this could be smartened up with a black cardi or blazer and some pretty loafers for work, or dressed down (like I wear it) with pumps and a trusty satchel.

D-Ring Shirt Dress: £13
D-ring belts were sooo fashionable in the '00's. I couldn't figure them out then, and I struggle to figure them out now. Yes, I do feel like an idiot admitting that! I saw this shirt dress on another blogger/vlogger's Primark haul a while back and loved it, so when I saw it, it had to be mine! I'll most likely be pairing this with leggings, ankle boots and my trusty DP coat, but, for now, it will do nicely for my upcoming cruise.

Wrap Front Dress: £13
I picked this up because it's so different to anything I've seen recently! It's a dark green colour, which is a colour I don't currently have in my wardrobe. I found it really hard to get a photo which shows how this dress actually looks. It's a lot more flattering in person!

Black Swing Dress: £10
I saw a black swing dress in Miss Selfridge (or was it Topshop?) last season and fell in love with it. However, when I tried it on, I looked like a slug. Horrendous. I saw this lattice-backed one hanging in Primark and thought 'no harm in trying.' This is what a swing dress is meant to look like on! I love this dress. It's really flattering on (more so from the front), though it is a little see-through.

High Neck Khaki Dress: £10
High necklines don't usually suit me, as I have a larger bust (nice wording, huh?), but something about this made me want to try it on. I love the fabric; being slightly thicker, it means the dress is really flattering. I think this would be lovely paired with a chunky necklace for the evening time, or worn with a long-sleeved, black T-shirt underneath during colder day times.

Belted Shift Dress: £13
I love the pattern of this so, so much! In fact, I just love this dress in general. I think Primark are really good at catering for different body types. I have an hourglass figure, with really large hips and I do have a belly on me, so bodycon isn't my best friend. I usually go for skater dresses, as they nip in at the waist and skim everything else, but the shift dresses that Primark offer are fab. They look smart and can be dressed up or down, the belts that come with them nip your waist in, but the loose, lined fabric doesn't cling to your bad bits.

So there you have it, my most recent Primark haul. Six dresses for £69!

Which Primark pieces are you currently eyeing up?
