Zoeva Rose Golden Luxury Set Review

Zoeva is a fairly new, German brush and cosmetic brand that has taken the beauty world by storm. The Rose Golden Luxury set contains eight, hand-crafted brushes which have become a statement accessory for any beauty junkie's dressing table. These may make for the ultimate accessory, but how do they perform on a day-to-day basis?

Price and Where to Buy
You can buy this brush set directly from Zoeva for £55/$78, plus £7.50/$16 shipping. Alternatively, if you live in the UK, it is available to purchase from Beauty Bay for £56.95 and shipping is free when you spend over £40! This works out at £7.11 per brush.

What's Included?
The set contains eight makeup brushes (five face, three eyes) and a faux leather clutch bag/travel pouch with rose gold Zoeva logo on the front and a rose gold zip. This set contains the following brushes:

Powder: a taklon bristled, vegan-friendly brush for application of loose and pressed powders
Silk Finish: a taklon bristled, vegan-friendly brush for application of foundations
Face Shape: a taklon bristled, vegan-friendly, rounded brush, suitable for buffing or contouring
Luxe Sheer Cheek: an angled, natural goat-hair brush suitable for use with blushers and powdered contour and highlight
Concealer Buffer: a taklon bristled, vegan-friendly, rounded brush suitable for concealing and colour correcting
Soft Definer: an oval-headed brush made with natural goat-hair, suitable for pressed and loose pigment eyeshadows
Petit Crease: a tapered brush made with natural goat-hair, suitable for building definition in the crease
Wing Liner: a small, broad and angled vegan-friendly brush with nylon bristles. Suitable for applying liquid/gel eyeliners and eyebrow products (I use mine to apply my ABH dipbrow pomade)

Appearance, Feel and Wear
Visually, this set does not disappoint! There's no denying that this is a beautiful set. These definitely feel like a high-end, premium product. The brushes are weighted really well, making them easy to work with. The only negative comment I will make on the appearance is that the black coating used on the brush handles does wear after a while. I have had mine for six months now, and it has chipped on the brushes I use most. This is something I have read in other reviews, too. The bristles themselves wear perfectly well. They do not shed, even during/after washing and come clean quite easily.

The Verdict
Pros: The three eye brushes are amazing and very easy to work with; all the brushes are super soft and gentle on the skin; the appearance of this set is fab; they feel very high-end; good selection, an all-round set.

Cons: The powder brush is perfectly fine, it just isn't the one I reach for upon instinct. I've realised this is because it's a little smaller and a little less dense than I prefer for setting powders. Contrastingly, the silk finish brush is a little too dense for my liking when it comes to applying foundation. It also feels like I am forever washing this brush!

I'd recommend asking for this set as a birthday/Christmas present rather than spending your hard-earned cash on it. It's a beautiful set, but I have since aquired other sets which have been a lot cheaper and are just as good as this Zoeva one. I definitely do like it though, and believe it would make for a great first set!

Have you ever used brushes from Zoeva? If so, let me know what you thought, and/or any cheaper, high-quality brush sets you recommend!

  1. I haven't tried their brushes, but they look stunning! It looks like this set has pretty much everything I'd need! I have so many brushes at the moment I really don't need to buy any more but I've always wanted to try Zoeva brushes. Sigma and Real Techniques are probably my favorite brands.

    1. I love Real Techniques, but have never tried Sigma as I thought they were a little pricey! We never 'need' new brushes though really, do we?! Go on, treat yourself!

  3. they are beautiful for sure, despite the black colour coming out, to me what matters is whether a brush sheds or not.

Cheap brand on amazon: Lydia brushes. Amazing! ;)

  7. I actually have these on my christmas wish list! They're stunning! I know how you feel about washing brushes. I'm getting sick of cleaning my real techniques face brush. It just seems to absorb so much foundation that it takes forever to get the product out. I'm never convinced that it's fully clean haha

  8. I absolutely love this set and get so much use out of the eye brushes! I actually love the powder brush and silk finish and prefer them to the Real Techniques powder and buffing brush! Don't get a lot of use out of the concealer brush or face shape though but I definitely think they are worth the money!

    1. I think I get the most use out of the eye brushes as well. I like the powder brush but prefer one I received in a Sedona brush set! The silk finish is okay just a nightmare to clean! I do love this set, it's sooo pretty and very good quality bristles!

  18. I've been wanting this set for absolutely ages, but I'll definitely be asking for it as a present instead Luke you suggested as I've heard about a lot of other cheaper brushes that are just as good. These are so aesthetically pleasing though!
