Moroccanoil Dry Shampoo Review*

Calling all lazy girls! Well, I hope I'm not the only one whose hair is 90% dry shampoo by the time the weekend rolls round? Don't judge! Now, I've been relying on my trusty Batiste since I was about 15 years old, so I was a little dubious when the lovely Zoe, from Bath and Unwind, contacted me about trying a new dry shampoo. Zoe popped the Moroccanoil dry shampoo in the post for me, and I've been testing this out over the last few weeks. If you've been keeping up with my Instagram (click here to join the action), then you'll know that this little saviour was a god send for me during the mini heatwave we've recently encountered, here in South East England. Well, today I'm bringing you a more in depth review. Kick back, grab a cuppa and listen to me rambling on about dry shampoo... beats working, right?

First up, Let's start with what Moroccanoil, themselves, have to say about this product:

'Refresh the hair in an instant with Moroccanoil Dry Shampoo, an ultra-fine spray enriched with argan oil to leave hair feeling clean, soft and silky without a dull build-up or residue.

Rice starch gets to work on absorbing excess oil at the roots, while the UV-protectant formula ensures hair is shielded from the elements all day. Infused with Moroccanoil's signature argan oil, hair is conditioned lightly to prevent any straw-like dry feeling.

With two shades to choose from, there is a Moroccanoil dry shampoo to suit every hair type. Blonde and grey hair is highlighted and enhanced with the light tones formula, leaving hair silky smooth and refreshed. Dark hair tones are rejuvenated and given a new lease of life with the dark tones formula, enhancing the natural richness of brunette shades and leaving the hair luxuriously sleek.'

This product is suitable for all hair types. Now, I don't mean to be Captain Obvious here, but I should point out that I went for the 'light tones' shampoo. I've tried a couple of these before, from Batiste and Colab, and I was not impressed. Dry shampoos that claim to have 'tones' in them tend to leave your hair looking... dusty. Grim, right? Everything ends up a bit chalky and it goes all over your clothes. Ugh. However, this Moroccanoil Dry Shampoo could not be further from what I expected! It doesn't make my hair feel horrendous, dusty or chalky, just clean and ready to style. It also minimises the appearance of my unsightly roots and makes my hair look a shade blonder, which is a bonus.

Also unlike some of the market leading dry shampoos, this product doesn't build up in your hair and end up weighing you down and making you feel grimey. I've been using this for a couple of days in a row, and my hair still feels soft and clean.

This product retails at £14.95 on Bath and Unwind; it is also available on Look Fantastic, All Beauty and Feel Unique, but the price is exactly the same. This isn't the cheapest dry shampoo out there, I know, but it is sooo good, I can forgive the price, every once in a while. I think if this were on the shelves at Boots and Superdrug, it would be my go-to, but, let's face it, it's just easier to pick up a couple of cans of Batiste on your lunch break, especially when they're on offer.

Overall, I'd give this product a solid 10/10. I seriously cannot fault it! It's great for those lazy days, but has been kind to my hair, too.

Have you tried anything from Moroccanoil before? Let me know what you thought. Would you give this a go, or are you a Batiste gal, through and through?

  5. Hang on... You don't like COlab?! Stop, and drop everything. Why not? haha anyways, Moroccan Oil sounds like such the luxury brand, and I really want to test out their shampoos & conditioners, but it's quite the steep price. The dry shampoo sounds great!
